My bitter sweet Valentine

My bitter sweet Valentine

We all know that Valentine’s Day is the time wherein couples celebrate their love for one another. It is a day filled with happy memories, romantic songs fly through our ears, chocolates and roses fill our hands and love occupies our hearts. Nothing is sweeter than celebrating Valentine’s Day with the love of your life while you hold hands and stroll the evening park as stars are the only spectators of your everlasting love for each other but every chocolate coated candy has its bitter filling inside. Nothing lasts for a life time but every memory lingers in your heart and soul, that makes true love unique and incomparable. What if the happiest moment of your life turned into one your worst nightmare?

It was the start of a new year for Caleb. 2010 was very generous to him as he got promoted as supervisor; he won a car during an event in a mall and bought a new pent house at the heart of the city. Truly it was a very fruitful year and 2011 is no different than that for he already planned out the things he had to accomplish. He was a single man that is addicted to success and never really cared about settling down with a family of his own. One day as he was walking across a street he bumped into a lady wearing a red scarf. It was that very moment when he realized how empty his heart was because as the lady glanced into his eyes as it was like saying something so passionate to him that he felt a tingling feeling in his chest and that made him stop in the middle of the street. The lady then ran across the street as if she was going something important.

Everyday and every night he kept on dreaming about those hazel brown eyes that made him realize that success is nothing if you cannot share it with one you love. So he went searching for the lady wearing the red scarf. He looked everywhere, in every alley in every street in every house he could see but no luck so he decided to take a break in a small coffee shop that says “Amère Douce”. He went inside and ordered black coffee and the moment he looked at the waitress he was instantly shocked and at the same time relieved for he now found the girl in the red scarf. He then went to that coffee shop everyday for the past couple of days. He got to know her and soon became friends. They hang out a lot and at the month of February they soon started dating. Caleb was in cloud nine because his career was on top and his love life is on the peak, there was nothing more he could ask for.

A week before Valentine’s Day he prepared a gorgeous ring, it was not an engagement ring but a promise ring that he will never leave Leila. It was his first time proposing to a girl and was very nervous about it so he always carries the ring with him in his left pocket. He wanted to propose on Valentine’s Day and he already planned a romantic dinner for the two of them. Days passed and the moment of truth had arrived, he asked Leila to wear the red scarf he saw during their first encounter in the streets. During the dessert course of the meal, while eating red velvet cake, Leila was startled to find a gorgeous white gold ring inside the cake covered with icing. She started to cry and the moment Caleb proposed to her she hugged him and kissed him passionately. It was the start of a new beginning for the both of them.

Unforgettable and happy months passed, the two of them were inseparable. They were both floating in the ocean of love. They never knew that life can be so perfect. During Christmas day, Leila wanted to tell Caleb something really important. So she asked him to meet at the coffee shop. As Caleb anxiously walked inside, he saw Leila holding a small box with a big smile on her face. Caleb said “What is this, honey? It is not our monthsary or did I get promoted? What is this for?” Leila then spoke “Gifts should not only be given if there is an occasion. I just want you to have this. It is something you will never forget. Hope you like it, daddy” As the word daddy entered Caleb’s ear his eyes started to fill up with tears and as he opened the box, it was a pair of yellow baby booties. He instantly hugged and kissed Leila. They celebrated that night with Cake and Tea. It was surely a night they won’t forget.

February approached the couple in hurry. It was Valentine’s Day and the two were happily preparing for the decorations in the coffee shop. Leila was about to pick up the flowers in the flower shop when Caleb arrived with a box of chocolates. He gave it to Leila and kissed her sweetly. She then took a bite on one of the assorted chocolates and said “Amère Douce”. Caleb forgot to ask Leila about what it means. She whispered to his ear “Bitter sweet” and pecked his cheeks and happily went outside to get the flowers. As she glanced at Caleb with those sweet Hazel brown eyes he felt sad and wanted her to stay. He felt a sharp pain in his chest that made him worry. He then continued decorating the coffee shop when, suddenly he heard a crash outside in the streets. He remembers hearing someone scream and people loudly sighing to the incident.

He rushed outside and to his fear, it was Leila! He ran as fast as he can towards the accident but police stopped him. He cried and shouted at the top of his lungs. He wanted her to be safe. He wanted THEM to be safe. As she was wheeled into the hospital he kept on praying and hoping that her two sweet angels would be fine but as the doctor went outside and told the good and bad news. He really did not know what to feel nor to say. Leila was now in stable condition but the baby did not survive.

That night as Caleb kissed Leila as she was sleeping; he went to “Amère Douce” and planted a small flower at the side of the shop. He placed the small booties that Leila gave to him and prayed for her little angel’s journey to heaven. Every February 14, the couple would always visit and pray in front of the flower reminding both of them about their precious little angel. They both wish that someday when God would grant them with another child, they would have the same baby, the baby that made their Valentine’s Day, bitter sweet.

Sipol

“Sipol”

The Promise

The promise

Everyone knows what a promise is and what it can do to a relationship. It depends upon the person if he/she will make that promise a dream come true or break that promise into tiny pieces but whatever decision he/she will make, the important thing is how he/she kept that promise alive. In this short story, you will see that not even death can stop a love and a promise from being rendered because true love keeps a promise alive no matter the situation is.

It was only every summer when Leslie and Michael see each other. They are childhood friends who only see one another when Leslie, a city girl, goes to her grandfather's farm for her summer vacation. Michael on the other hand is a typical teenager who lives in a quiet home near a lake with his parents. They knew each other since they were only 3 years old due to the fact that Michael's parents work for Leslie's grandfather's farm.

Their friendship grew strong as time passes by and little did Leslie know, Michael was now falling in love for her. It was when they were on junior high when Michael finally admits to himself that he was now falling in love with his childhood buddy, Leslie. Leslie did not have a clue on what she meant to Michael, the only thing she was focused about was graduating and pursuing a career as a doctor. She really was not your ordinary girl because even though she was rich and popular, she was neither boastful nor arrogant about it; she is still down to earth and is always thinking of others before her.

Everything was now almost perfect for this little love story, until a small accident that changed Leslie’s life occurred. She fell down the stairs and she was rushed to the hospital. Afterwards, the doctor told her she was all right and there were no major problems. The truth is, the doctor made a mistake, she had a mild concussion on her head but it was not detected because during that time, there were no special machines that can detect even the smallest or minor hemorrhage in the body. She was now carrying a living time-bomb in her head and only God knows when she will die.

A couple of months passed and that was only when the symptoms started showing up but Leslie ignored it, thinking it was only stress. She began having serious migraine and torturing body pains for several days but afterwards she will be fine for another couple of weeks. She did not tell anyone about what she was going through until Michael saw the blood on her handkerchief during their boat ride along the lake. As they were talking about their careers, Leslie suddenly coughed and turned away from Michael. Michael being worried held her and asked her if she was all right. Leslie only said. ''I am fine; the breeze probably made me dizzy. Let's go back to the villa. I want to rest.'' Michael replied, ''Are you sure? You look pale and you’re cold. Maybe we should take you to a doctor, Leslie'' She looked at him as if she was begging him to keep everything a secret and spoke softly as a little smile draws her lips, ''I am fine, I am going to be a doctor, right? I can handle myself. You don’t have to be so worried. You silly boy''

They went back to the villa and then Leslie collapsed in her room feeling so weak and in pain. At first she did not want to believe that she has now something severe but then, the agonizing pain she felt kept on reminding her she really do have an illness. After that incident she kept away from people, fearing she will cause sorrow and make them worry. So she kept her condition to herself. She was alone and afraid of what the future might bring to her, what's worse was when Michael confessed to her.

One night when Leslie was alone in her room trying to figure out how she will recover, Michael broke into her room through her terrace window. He said to Leslie as he was slowly entering the room ''Leslie, I don’t know what’s wrong and why you kept on ignoring for these past few weeks but I can handle whatever it is, please tell me what is wrong.'' Leslie looking surprised stood up and turns the pages of a medical book to close and spoke, ''Now, is not a good time to talk about this matter. I'll see you tomorrow, meet me at the old oak tree near the farm house and I will tell you everything. But for now, you have....'' before she could say another word, Michael hugged her and whispered in her ears. ''I don’t want to lose you Leslie; I loved you since the beginning. Please don't make me go away. I should have said this a long time ago. Leslie, I love you so much and i do not know what I'll do if you leave me. Please let us be ok again.'' Leslie started to cry, it was mixed emotions but the fact that she knew that she is now limited to this earth made her cry even more.

Michael left Leslie with a kiss and waved to her goodbye. Leslie on the other hand was still in shock, she just now realized, she felt the same for Michael and was now scared in facing and telling him the truth. But she kept her promise in seeing Michael at the oak tree. That night, she researched every medical book she can read and found out the truth when she remembered her fall. She got scared and cried that night but she was determine to fight the illness and find a cure to it because she knew she has now more than one reason to live. She found out that she can still recover from it. There was now hope and the light of life finally shone onto her.

The day had arrived. She went to the oak tree and saw Michael sitting on the grass. She approached him and sat beside him. “Michael, this is for you. I hope you understand and I hope you can wait for me. I like you…no…I love you so please do this for me if you really like me that much.” Leslie gave Michael a letter and ran off back to the villa. Michael got confused and opened the letter. It says there:

“Dear Michael,

I am sorry if I cannot answer your question if I could be with you forever but for the mean time I want you to promise me, you will bring me a single rose for every single day until I answer your question. This will prove to me that you really are serious with me. I hope you can wait.

Love,

Leslie”

Michael smiled and was determined to win Leslie’s heart. Weeks past and then months but Leslie was not yet answering his question. During this time, she is actually finding a cure for her illness so that when he finally answers Michael’s question, they can live a normal and happy life. But on the 3rd month, on the 90th rose, Leslie died. Her illness was never been cured and she died of internal bleeding, alone in her room. Michael could not believe what had happened and was devastated to find that the love of his life died early and what is worse is that he is not beside her during her final breath. After Leslie’s memorial, Michael kept on visiting her grave every single day for the past 40 years bringing a single rose to her grave, hoping that she will now answer his question but the truth is, he knows, in the back of his heart, what the true answer is. He intentionally kept his promise to her and that made the promise golden and forever will be treasured by him and Leslie even in the afterlife.

A mother's Intuition

“A mother’s Intuition”

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel you are incomplete? Did you ever felt that there is something missing deep inside of you, as if like your soul is searching for a piece missing in a jigsaw puzzle? Well, if you haven’t felt that you don’t know how it’s like to be Faye. Here is her story.

It was a typical Sunday morning. Faye, a 27 yrs. old woman, is getting ready to make breakfast for her family. She is a regular mom who enjoys playing with her 6 yrs. old daughter, Cassie. She is married to a businessman from a much known company. Everyday her daily routine is: wakes up and prepares breakfast, eats with her family, kisses her husband goodbye, bathes Cassie, dresses her then drops her to a nursery school not far from home then visits her mother, Helen.

Little did she know that Helen is only her foster parent and not her biological mother. She was adopted when she was only a baby. Her parents kept that secret from her because the fact that Helen and Fred, Helen’s husband, cannot create a child makes it difficult for them to lose the only offspring they could have. Every morning when Faye would go to her mother’s house she would always feel something was not contenting her. She would laugh and have fun but then again, whenever she would look at her mother and father, she feels dissatisfaction and emptiness. She ignored it for 27 years until that faithful day.

While Faye was walking from the nursery school she bumped into an old lady who she always sees whenever she goes there. The old lady kept on asking passers-by “Are you my daughter?” The people of their neighborhood thought she was mentally unsettled so they would ignore her. But that day when Faye bumped into her and the old woman asked her, she felt a spark inside her. She did not know what that was and eventually apologized to the old lady and continue her walk. As she was walking away the old woman shouted “Are you my daughter?”At that time, her heart suddenly beat faster the she stopped walking, she looked behind her but the old lady was now gone.

The day after that incident, she went to her mother’s house, as usual, with her daughter Cassie. Cassie was drawing on the table while all of them where in the kitchen preparing snacks. Linda, one of Helen’s friends, was drunk over wine at that time because she went to a victory party before going to Helen’s house. She kept on nagging Helen about inappropriate things and then it slipped. Linda, accidentally said, “Helen, when will you ever have the strength? You are so weak! Look at me now! My daughter left me because she said I am a drunkard. My husband died during the war. But look at me! I am strong! When will you have the guts to tell your little adopted daughter the truth?!” Everything that Linda said was heard by Faye and she looked at her foster mom with tears in her eyes.

“Faye, please let me explain.” Helen said while approaching Faye. “No! How could you do this to me? Now I know why I feel so incomplete whenever I am around you and dad. Why did you not tell me when I was still young?” Faye claimed as she ran outside the house. Faye was devastated and could not think straight. The only thing in her mind was her true mother. Where could I find her? Is she still alive? Will she remember me? A part of Faye hated her biological mother but a big portion of it was to understand her mother’s deicision. She was now on the quest in finding her true identity.

When she returned home, it was already pass 10:00 pm. She entered the room and saw her husband, Cassie, and her foster parents sitting in the fireplace worried about her. She then approached Helen and said, “I want to know the truth. I want it coming from you. I will listen whole heartedly to your story. I am sorry.” That night Helen told the truth. Faye was left outside their porch one night, leaving only a dirty blanket and a letter behind. The letter only contained one simple note. It says there “Take care of my beautiful angel. I will comeback for her someday” Helen and Fred feared that their blessing would be taken away from them so they left their old home and started a new life in their current place.

Faye decided to search for her mother. That night when they were sleeping, she went to Cassie’s room to fix her toys. She saw a drawing of an old lady holding a baby and below it she wrote “Ma and baby”. She smiled and kept the picture with her thinking it was her and Cassie. That morning as she was to drop Cassie to her nursery, they come across the old lady. Cassie then said to Faye. “Mommy! Mommy! Look! It’s Ma.” She then ignored what Cassie said and then told her it’s bad to call names.

While she was at home preparing for her visit to her mother, someone knocked at the door. It was the old lady asking her if she was her daughter. Faye at that time was still in the state of depression so she scolded the old lady and asked her to go away. As she slammed the door, she continued preparing and then someone called her phone. It was the investigator who she asked to find her parents. The man said that her father died a long time ago and that her brothers and sisters all died in a fire a few years ago. Her mother on the other hand was nowhere to be found after the incident. Faye asked if it possible that her mother was alive and the investigator said yes. She then asked for a picture so that she could post it online or in the streets but the detective unfortunately cannot give her one because everything was destroyed by the fire but he claimed that her mother was distinct according to their neighbors. She has a mole under her lip almost to her chin.

All of a sudden Faye remembered Cassie’s drawing. She instantly took it and saw the old lady in the drawing having a big dot on her chin. Her heart started to beat faster. At that moment she suddenly recalled the word Ma. It was Cassie addressing to grandma. That was what Cassie formerly calls Helen when she was very small and then Helen told her to call her Grandmother instead of Ma. She rushed outside hoping the old lady was still there. She went to the place where the old lady can be seen and to her shock, she saw her lying on the ground beside a dumpster and covered with cardboard boxes.

She slowly approached the woman and hugged her without hesitation. The old lady spoke as she was tearing up. “Are you my daughter?” then Faye replied while hugging her tight, “Yes, I am” The old lady whispered to Faye’s ear “Finally...” The old lady smiled with full contentment as she kissed her daughter’s cheek.

That was the final word that Faye had heard to her real mother. The old lady was brought to the hospital after that incident but did not survive. She was suffering from tuberculosis for a long time and that it was already late for treatment. Faye now realized that even though she only knew her mother for a short period of time, she felt satisfied and relieved that she had seen her and hugged her before her final breathe. She then reconciled with her foster parents and now lived a serene life.

Chilling Tales

The shower

Have you ever wonder why you seem cold when you are taking a bath? Well, it’s not the water or the ventilation. A sudden gush of draft enters your bathroom but surprisingly the door and the windows are closed. Care to guess why?

It was a quarter pass 10 pm when Melanie, a student in a famous university, took a night shower in her dorm’s public restroom. It was her first night in that particular dormitory because her past dormitory was burned to the ground by an unknown crazy man. As she was turning the shower knobs she felt a quick breeze, she then ignored it and continued taking a bath. Afterwards she got dressed and then went to her room. It was her daily routine to take a bath during at night that is why she was used to walk down the hall all by herself. Then one night as she was taking the same shower treatment she felt shivers down her spine then she looked behind her. She was startled to what she saw, a foot dangling on the shower head and as she looked up, she saw a young lady hanged with no eyes bloody all over.

She ran as fast as she can outside the bathroom, almost half naked she quickly went inside her room and turned on the lights. “The chilly feeling won’t go away” she said to herself as she gets dressed. Then her roommate screamed when she saw her sitting beside the bed. Melanie kept on asking why she was so scared to death and as she looked in the vanity mirror of their room. The young lady was sitting in her shoulders looking directly at her in the mirror.

Days later the dormitory was burned to the ground the same as Melanie’s first dormitory. They soon found out that the man who kept on burning these dormitories was the young lady’s father. He tried to keep her daughter from harming others; she was raped in the bathroom then murdered afterwards.

Bedroom Guest

It’s always fun to have a guest in our house especially if it’s a sleep over but having an unwanted guest is something far beyond strange and wrong. During cold nights do you experience a cold sensation in parts of your body as you lay down in your bed? Here is why.

Anne and Kelly were the best of friends since they were only 5 years old. They love hanging out and playing house in their tree house. Now that they are teenagers, they love having sleep-over or slumber parties. Then one unexpected night as the two of them were doing their nails the door suddenly creaked. They ignored it and then closed it. It was about 11pm when they decided to rest and lay down in the bed. Anne, who was sleeping on the left side of the bed turned her back at Kelly and then felt a tingly chill in her foot. She immediately tucks her foot inside the blanket and shut her eyes. She kept on feeling this chilly feeling in her foot even though her foot is already inside the blanket. She then asked Kelly if she feels the same thing but to her shock, she saw no one beside her!

Anne was freaked out! She thought that Kelly was behind her all the time, she even felt someone lying down at the bed. Kelly on the other hand was in the bathroom brushing her teeth and then asked Anne why she was so freaked out. She then told everything. Kelly stood silent for a while then told her the truth. Kelly’s family moved out a couple of days from their previous home because her older sister was having an unwanted guest in her room, an incubus. It then followed them at their current home. Her sister was then brought to the asylum and the room they were staying was that of her older sister’s.

Sometimes simple breezes or tiny chills mean something. It maybe a spirit in need of attention or a friendly gesture, but whatever it is, always be careful because you might never know what you will see when a gush of wind passes you by.

“World’s greatest Dad”

My dad was once my best friend. When I was still a child I could remember him taking me to the park to play catch or just to play tag with me. We were the best of buddies but as soon I reached my high school years. My bond with my father slowly faded. Then one unforgettable event happened to us. Here is our story.

“It was the first day of my freshmen year. I was scared to enter the school but my father smiled at me and said “Ben, I am so proud at you that you are now in high school. Please study well for this is your future not ours.” I just smiled back because I kept on hearing those same words every year. I stepped out of the car and went on. The first day was ok. It was not that special but at least I made a couple of new friends. “

“A couple of weeks I began to befriend this girl. Her name was Kylie, she was very pretty and she was very kind. Not long we started dating and that was the very first time I had a girlfriend. I told my father about her and he got excited to meet her. That’s what I like about him. He was cool with everything and that he is open minded about things. I sometimes pity him because he worked at a construction site and every time he goes home he is very tired and weak. The fact that he is old makes it ten times harder.”

“After a year of courting Kylie I told my father that I would take Kylie home to meet him and mom. He told me sure and he was delighted to find out that I am no longer a boy. I was his little man. I just smiled and went on. That night I brought Kylie and she met my family. Everything was going alright when soon I found out that she was cheating on me. I hated her so much and I even hated myself more for being so stupid to fall for such a girl like that.”

“I soon started drinking and went home late at night. That was then when my father started to scold me. I was so irritated with my life and he scolding me, added more to that irritation. I soon started yelling at my dad, telling him that he was so annoying and so stupid. I was being taken over by my hatred towards my first love.”

“One night as I was walking down the road, I took the shortcut down the construction site where my father was working. I was holding a bottle of rum but I was not yet drunk. I was planning to drink it by the lake shore but my dad saw me and he took the bottle and slammed it on the ground. At first I did not recognized him because it was dark, the only source of light was the moon so it was blurry and I got angry and tried to hurt my dad but when he spoke and said “Son, stop this non sense! I know it’s hard for you but please don’t ruin your life for such a pitiful girl!”

“I soon started crying and dropped on my knees! I told him “You don’t know anything about how I feel! I loved her so much and that she was everything to me! You don’t give a damn! When we broke up, were you there? You were gone for 5 days! 5 days!! You did not tell me where you have gone to! I have no one to share my feelings to! You know you are my best friend!” my dad slowly approached me and then...we both fell into a pit.”

“As I open my eyes total darkness was all that I can see and as I look above, only stars are the light that you can see. We were covered halfway with dirt and my dad held my hand and said “Are you ok? Do you feel something that hurts?” I just said no and tried to scream for help.”

“It was almost an hour that we were buried halfway to our chest. My dad started to lose conscious because of the tight space we were in. His hand was almost loosing grip to mine and I started to panic. Then the worst thing happened, it started raining hard. The pit was slowly being filled with water after a few minutes I heard someone walking closely to us and I screamed HELP! It was a stranger that was passing by he told us to hang tight, he will call for help.”

“Now I was the one losing conscious. I was getting dizzy and paranoid of drowning. My dad held my hand the whole time, he said sorry every time i moan because my legs got numbed. It was the first time I saw my dad cried. The whole time we were on the pit he tried to talk to me to regain conscious I know he is in pain more than I am but he encouraged me to stay awake. Then the rescuers came and pulled down a rope. My dad screamed “Take my son first! Take him! Save my son first!” As my dad put the harness around my chest area my vision started to go blurry and as I was being raised up to the ground my father held my hand and said to me “I love you, son. Please be safe. Everything is alright now. I am sorry for not being there for you. I hope you understand.” Then as our hands separated the dirt started to pile in on him and water gushed up to his neck. The last thing I saw when I was being raised up was his smile as if he was saying that he is happy that he had a son like me.

“I was put on the ambulance and I was relieved when one of the rescuers told me that my dad was being lifted now and everything was going alright. As soon I was wheeled into the ambulance, people began screaming and panicking. I heard them saying “The pit! The pit piled on! Get the man out of there!”

It was the last time I saw my dad. He was buried alive in that pit; it was already morning when the rescuers dug my dad out and my mom told me when I was in the hospital bed how my dad looked like when he was being raised up. My dad was holding his locket. That locket contained our picture together.”

“I soon found out the reason why my dad was gone for 5 days. He was working another job in another town. My mom told me he was saving money for my college and for my birthday present, a car. I told myself that whatever happens I will graduate and find a stable job. For this was my father’s dream. He gave his life for me so that I can undo my wrong doings. I know somewhere out there; my father is looking at me and guiding me all the way.”

Words of freedom

Words of freedom

Long distance relationships are very hard and complicated. Having these two people who love one another separated by distance and time is something unbearable and temptations seem to follow but holding on is what keeps this unique relationship work. What if that person can no longer take the pain of separation and says that he wants to give up and wants you to be happy with someone else? Hearing these “words of freedom” is the most hurtful thing you can hear from the one you loved so much.

It was a sunny morning when Amber was busy making breakfast for her family. She was the eldest among her siblings and that she is known for being so independent and hardworking. She was currently studying at a famous university. It was pass 9am when she realized she was already late for her first subject.

She is currently in a relationship with Jacob. Jacob is the only child of a wealthy family. He is very religious and down to earth. They had a very good relationship with one another. They have been together for almost a year now and that their relationship is perfectly legal with their parents. Their love is truly unique due to the fact that they have a long distance relationship!

One night when the two were on the phone Amber said “Jacob, how was your day? Tomorrow is our anniversary! I can’t wait to celebrate! I hope you are here with me.” Jacob replied “It was fine. Uhmm...me too. I can’t wait. Amber i will be busy for a while ok? I have work this summer so I won’t be talking to you for a while.” “Oh is that so? It’s ok. Don’t forget to take a rest and drink lots of water ok?” Then the clock stroke 12 they greeted one another for holding on for a year. Their love was unstoppable. Everything was going so well and so perfect then it came to him. Distance was all over his head. Longing for her was circulating through his veins then the reality of distance hugged him as surrender whispered to his ears.

A few days passed and Amber started to neither notice that Jacob no longer talks to him nor answers her messages. She began to worry that he already forgot her. She started calling him and whenever he answers the phone it was the same boring conversation. He no longer has the passion to chat with her. Amber understood that he was busy with work but the fact that he no longer has the desire to commit to her that was the time that Amber began to panic. She kept on asking, calling, and texting him if he still loves her. She was a girl possessed by desperation and was on the verge of losing her mind. She deeply loved Jacob so much and that she was afraid of him leaving her.

One day when Amber opened her facebook account, she saw Jacob’s status and started to cry. It says that he was now single. She wanted to scream but her tears overwhelmed her. She instantly called him and kept on annoying him, asking him about what was going on. Jacob said that he was so sorry for everything. He no longer could handle their relationship. He was scared of hurting her because he cannot fulfil his promise to her that they will be together forever. He just kept quiet the whole time as Amber was crying. He cannot say anything to her. Before the conversation stopped, he told amber that maybe she should find someone close to her so that she would not feel lonely. Amber snapped that time she yelled at the phone “I don’t want anyone other than you! I am happy with you! I know that someday we will be together! Our love and commitment is very strong and that distance is nothing compare to the power of our passion to one another! I love you Jacob! Please! Let us work things out!”

He still did not say anything then the line went off. It was the last conversation she had with Jacob. Every time she calls him, he would not answer and whenever he is online on the computer he ignores her. Amber’s friends comforted her and gave her advices; they told her to stop stalking him and stopped aggravating him to come back to her. She is losing her pride over someone who did not care about her feelings and to someone who threw their 1 year relationship down the drain. Amber just said to them that she is trying to fix something that can still be resolved. Their love is true she knows that and patience is the only key and holding on is one of the solution.

It’s been 3 years and Amber still waited for him. She kept her promise that she will never love another guy other than Jacob then one day as she was walking, a car stopped beside her and as she looked through the open window it was Jacob staring at her. Her eyes started to tear up. Jacob stepped out and grabbed her hand and told her that he kept one of his promises to her that he will go to her place and meet her there. Amber started crying and hugged him and kept on saying that she loved him so much and that everything was all worth it but Jacob did not say anything nor hugged her back. Amber started to fear that there was something wrong. She spoke “What’s wrong? Are you not happy that we are now together? That you are here with me right now?” Then Jacob gave her an invitation card and left.

Amber was in a state of shock. She dropped the wedding invitation and started running away. Jacob was now getting married to someone else. Her dreams of her and Jacob being together were shattered into shards. The pain was unbearable! She isolated herself in her room and then one day a phone call from her mother ended the story. Amber committed suicide and left a note beside her tormented body and injured soul saying that:

“Freedom is his excuse to find somebody else. Death for me is an exception to pain. I am sorry that I am weak but seeing him happy as I am being tortured in hell and looking up to earth will be my greatest freedom.”

That day, Amber’s funeral, Jacob realized he was not happy with his wife. She was a gold digger and she only wanted his money. She cannot believe that he made the biggest mistake in his life. He blamed himself for Amber’s death and ever since that he became a total stranger to everyone. If only Jacob hold on to her and that he opened his mind that their relationship would work. He wouldn’t feel the agony of regret.
